Great New Feature from Snapchat Allows Brands to Send Traffic to Websites

Snapchat made a nice update to their app today, and this new feature is available to all.

Users can now create unique Snapcodes for their websites. When scanned, these Snapcodes will open up the website within the Snapchat app. This is a powerful new way for businesses to promote themselves with images/symbols rather than just URLs.

To use the new feature, simply open “Settings” in the Snapchat app and select “Snapcodes,” then “Create Snapcode.” From there, enter the URL, and add an image from your website or phone. Just make sure it fits inside the ghost logo.

Snapchat is beefing up it’s features as it approaches its IPO (expected very soon). Offering businesses more ways to promote content outside of the app will increase its utility and ROI potential. Stayed tuned for more…
